Dr. Rashunda L. Stitt is originally from Birmingham, Alabama and recently completed her PhD from the University of Memphis in Educational Psychology and Research with a concentration in Educational Psychology. Her dissertation research focused on understanding the construction of academic identity in African American female engineering students from a Black feminist perspective. In addition to her PhD, she received the Graduate Certificate in Qualitative Research. She is an alum of Howard University and the University of West Florida. During her post-doctoral tenure at Howard, Dr. Stitt will also be serving as a research fellow for the Identity and Success Research Lab housed in the Department of Psychology. She is excited to be working with HUAdvance-IT because the goals of the program align with her research interests, which focus on identity construction in people of color in STEM fields. When she’s not conducting research, she enjoys movies, music, traveling, and engaging with her church family.
